Meet Aroonji — Founder of Yogasole Studio
Born in India, yoga was just the daily PT class at school for me—something I barely tolerated and never truly understood. It wasn’t until my thirties, after years of travel and living across three continents, that I rediscovered the pure joy and deep connection of yoga. My curiosity led me to seek meaning and spirit in every corner of the world.
I spent decades immersed in the Waldorf and anthroposophical communities in India and USA, finding inspiration from Western thinkers like Rudolf Steiner, Karl König, Goethe, and the stoic philosophers. I explored movement in all its forms, from Bothmer gymnastics to eurythmy and martial arts—always drawn to discovering how we connect body, mind, and spirit.
In 2019, my journey brought me to Italy with my wonderful wife Sofia and our three children. We settled in her family’s beautiful home among the olive hills of Fiesole, and I felt called to become a full-time yoga teacher—blending the wisdom of the East and West here in the heart of Tuscany.
My foundation remains in Hatha yoga, but over the years I’ve ventured into Kundalini, yin, dynamic yoga, qi gong, ancient and modern breathwork, tantra, Ayurveda, and life coaching. I’ve even developed new forms, like “Etheric yoga,” that invite deeper exploration and healing.
My goal is always to keep yoga and wellbeing accessible to all. I offer reasonable prices, discounts, and scholarships for those who need support.
Together with my wife, Sofia—an artist, musician, and skilled massage therapist—we run Yogasole Studio, host retreats and workshops, and care for our family olive farm.

Sofia
Sofia brings to her massage practice a life shaped by movement, culture, and deep listening. Growing up with roots in two continents and speaking three languages, she learned early to see the world from multiple perspectives, an ability that now lives in her hands and presence.
Originally trained as an architect, Sofia soon realized that her true calling lay beyond structures of steel and stone. Her natural inclination toward music, gardening, therapeutic work, and the arts gently guided her toward a more embodied and human-centered path.
In 1997, she completed her 500-hour professional massage training in London. Since then, massage has been a constant thread in her life, refined through decades of practice and enriched by personal experience. Her sessions are known for being deeply soothing, intuitive, and grounding, offering both physical relief and nervous system calm.
Now based in Fiesole, Sofia balances her massage practice with family life, raising three children, and teaching piano and accordion both in a school setting and privately. Music, touch, and presence weave seamlessly through all that she does.
Most massage sessions take place in the studio, a quiet and welcoming space designed for deep relaxation. By arrangement, Sofia is also available to offer massage sessions at your home in the Fiesole and Florence area, creating a nurturing experience in the comfort of your own space.
Her work is subtle yet profound, informed by years of study, artistry, and a genuine care for the well-being of others.
